About this event

This training is aimed at professionals working in specialist family violence, community, health,

and other sectors that may engage with older people needing support and experiencing elder abuse.

Overview:

This interactive forum aims to improve the knowledge and skills of professionals, staff and workers in responding to elder abuse. Elder abuse is any form of mistreatment or abuse of an older person and is carried out by someone they trust, such as a family member or relative. At the end of the training participants will have a better understanding of how to recognise elder abuse, suitable responses, working with diverse populations and where to seek assistance and support. The training includes a case study discussion to increase the practical understanding of elder abuse.
